Finally, the Star Wars Cantina Is Bringing Booze to Disneyland—But It’ll Cost You an ArmJune 03, 2019
After much fanfare and a frenzy to snag coveted opening tickets, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland is officially open. The heavily hyped attraction is designed to appease fans of all generations, from old-school nerds nostalgic for the original trilogy to aspiring young Jedis waiting breathlessly for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker in December. Visitors can wander through immersive exhibits including an eerily lifelike replica of the planet of Batuu and a 100-foot Millennium Falcon.
Standouts include rides like Smuggler’s Run and the Droid Depot, essentially a Build-A-Bear for R2D2s. Yet out of all the eye-candy drawing at the 14-acre park, one thing is really drawing attention: the bar.
You’re not at Disneyland for bargains; you're here to relive your childhood fantasies as an adult—preferably with a beer in hand.”
That’s right. For the first time ever, Disneyland is serving booze on the premises. Oga’s Cantina is the only public place on the premises to get it and the bar is pouring 14 cocktails, wine, beer, and cider with on-brand flair. Stepping inside feels like sidling into the cantina in Mos Eisley, where Han Solo definitely shot first.
Our favorite part is, of course, the sample flight of beers custom-brewed for Disney by New Belgium, Ballast Point, Sierra Nevada, and Blue Point. The selection will set you back a cool $75, but at least you get to take home the commemorative Star Wars serving board. Besides, you’re not at Disneyland for bargains; your here to relive your childhood fantasies as an adult—preferably with a beer in hand.
