Jared Rouben rose to beer fame as the brewmaster at Goose Island's brewpub. There, he came up with concoctions that blended his passion for food and beer – white truffle sours, green tea golden ales and applewood smoked helles.
Three-years-ago he left Goose to pursue his unique style of brewing that he dubbed culinary beers. At Moody Tongue Brewing Company, located in Chicago's Pilsen neighborhood, Rouben's culinary brewing has a home of its own. Sliced Nectarine IPA, Caramelized Chocolate Churro Porter and steeped Emperor's Lemon Saison are served in the sleek and sophisticated taproom alongside only two food options: Oysters and chocolate cake.
It's a place to behold and the creator himself joins us on the October podcast to shine some light on this one-of-a-kind brewery.
