Since 7 Monks Taproom opened its first location in Traverse City, Michigan, the owners have wanted to find a place to settle a location in Grand Rapids.

It took some time, but the location in Grand Rapids is now open. In the interim six years, 7 Monks garnered some recognition as one of the best beer bars in the country by the likes of publications such as Draft Magazine and Thrillist.

The bar bucks the trend for many in Michigan, and doesn’t focus on Michigan tap handles and instead brings in a diverse array of beers from across the globe – with an added emphasis on Belgian beers. You know, monks and all.

The taproom playlist provided by 7 Monks general manager Jason Kasdorf is as eclectic as the beer list. Some songs might be your favorite, while others might not be your thing. Rest assured, they’re all good.
