October 21, 2018

By October Staff, October 21, 2018

  • 10/22
    Tröegs' Mad Elf
    Northeast

This ruby-red brew reminiscent of ripened cherries, raw honey and cocoa ushers in the holiday season. Understated notes of cinnamon, clove and allspice add to the festive spirit.

  • 10/22
New Belgium's Voodoo Ranger Imperial Black IPA
    Midwest

With a subtly smoky herbal aroma, balanced sweetness and lingering bitterness, this 10% ABV Imperial Black makes for an especially bold, assertive IPA.

  • 10/22
Cigar City's Marshal Zhukov's Russian Imperial Stout
    Southeast

Named in honor of World War II general Georgy Zhukov, this Russian Imperial Stout is opaque black, with notes of chocolate, dark toffee and hints of blackstrap molasses. The English hop varietals provide a subtle herbal dryness, and the beer finishes with a hearty slap of roasty espresso.

  • 10/22
    Dogfish Head's 75 Minute IPA
    Northeast

The latest itineration of a cult classic, this IPA is continually hopped throughout the boil, then dry-hopped with Cascade hops. The result is a malty, earthy brew with citrusy-pine aromas balanced by hints of real maple syrup.

  • 10/22
    Schlafly's Merry Berry Ale
    Midwest

Real raspberries, blueberries, and blackberries lend a multitude of fruity flavors to this bold, deep-red holiday beer.

  • 10/24
    Red Hook's Continuous Revelation
    Northwest

This limited release Coffee IPA marries the Pacific Northwest's affinities for craft beers and high-quality coffee. Intense hop character melds perfectly with whole, single-origin beans for a pleasantly bitter brew.

  • 10/26
    AleSmith's Evil Dead Red
    Southwest

Hop-heavy, yet with limited bitterness, this American Red Ale with an apt 6.66% ABV has notes of caramel malts and lingers on the palate.

  • 10/26
    Wicked Weed's Dark Arts
    Southeast

Aged in bourbon barrels since 2013, this Wild Imperial Stout is North Carolina's first beer to reach the 15% ABV legal cap. It's a heady, remarkably smooth, complex creation.
