You’re sitting in the stands at sunset, surrounded by sprawling rock formations, and listening to the to The National’s Matt Berninger belt it out on stage. You’re at Red Rocks Amphitheater and the only thing that can make this scene better is the presence of a beer in your hand. The folks at New Belgium Brewing Company agree, which is why they have partnered with Red Rocks to bring a one-of-a-kind collaboration to the Colorado music venue.

New Belgium on the Rocks

Colorado’s New Belgium Brewing is rapidly increasing its footprint in the state, with a new brewery in the Source Hotel and an exclusive partnership with Red Rocks Amphitheater. The latter, which was finalized this month, includes a three-year deal to become “the official craft brewer” of the al fresco concert hall. It also guarantees the Fort Collins-based brewery an increased presence at the Colorado Convention Center, the Denver Performing Arts Complex and the Bellco Theatre. One of the first orders of business in the deal is the production of Stage Rock Colorado Ale. The 4.7% ABV kolsch will be sold at Red Rocks and other Denver venues. (Brewbound)

Stone in Shanghai

Stone Brewing’s rapid expansion now includes a new taproom in Shanghai, China. The 3,200 square-foot bar and restaurant offers 30 beers on tap as well as live music on the weekends. Stone calls the bar “the first tap room by an independent American craft brewery in China.” The opening also marks the California-based brewery’s third new taproom in three months—earlier this year Stone opened locations in Napa, California and Berlin, Germany.  (Stone Brewing)
