Weekly Beer Releases for November 11th to 16th

November 12, 2018

By October Staff, November 12, 2018

  • 11/11
    Red Hook's Winterhook
    Northwest

A hoppy dark lager that combines the hops of a dank IPA, the malt of a brown ale, and the yeast profile of a bock.

  • 11/11
Highland Brewing Company's Imperial Cold Mountain
    Southeast

A bigger, bolder version of Highland Brewing Company's legendary winter seasonal. Notes of vanilla, hazelnut, dark fruit and cinnamon enhance this imperial winter ale.

  • 11/11
    Deschutes's The Abyss 2018 Reserve
    Northwest

A deep, dark imperial stout with incredible depth and hints of molasses and licorice. Although it's delicious upon release, allowing it to age in the cellar for a year will only improve the flavor.

  • 11/11
    Yee Haw's Winter Porter
    Southeast

This Baltic-inspired English porter is complex, smooth and malt-forward with hints of blackcurrant and dark fruit. All of this is complemented by a touch of Madagascar vanilla.

  • Here's a sampling of the best beers being released in the coming week around the nation.

    Sweetwater's Festive Ale
    Southeast

Just in time for the holidays is this strong, spiced seasonal ale has big complex flavors. Brewed only one day per year, this high octane 8.1% ABV brew has plenty of Centennial and Golding hops and is capped with a dose of cinnamon and nutmeg.

  • 11/14
    Revolution's Freedom of the Press
    Midwest

This latest entry in Revolution's sour series is an easy-drinking, lightly tart ale with sweet earthy berry flavors from black currants.

  • 11/14
    Tröegs' Blackberry Tizzy
    Northeast

Sour fermentation tempers the juicy-sweet blackberries with a touch of tartness, and a rest in bourbon barrels delivers ripples of oak and toasted coconut in this sour ale.

  • 11/16
    Half Acre's Double Barrel Benthic
    Midwest

Aged in apple brandy and bourbon barrels with a touch of cinnamon and coconut, this BBA stout is startlingly complex.
